A Hand in Need

I was travelling way way too much this few weeks. Up and down KL-JB-KL-JB several times in a week. It is almost like I am working in JB and living in KL. This of course took a toll on the body - dem bloody sleepy whenever I was on the road.

There was one day when I was totally exhausted. I bought a couple of Redbull at my usual R&R. The last and only time I ever take a redbull is when erm... SPM or STPM time. To cramp 2 years worth of 'learning' into that few hours I have.
So there I was, with my redbull, ready to get on the road again that night. When suddenly, "knock knock" and I looked, an Indian guy was knocking on my passenger window. I slide it open a lil to hear what he had to say.

He was explaining about his misfortune of his faulty ATM card, and he was on his way to see his ailing father, and how he is short of fund. He also explained that his family (inside the car, Exora) havent have any proper meal for days. I took a short glance and can see that there were 4-5 teenagers in the car waiting anxiously for their father's return. I also concluded that for him to be asking for money in an R&R, it is not your usual scam, but a case of pure emergency.
It also ran through my mind that he should have planned properly, and obtain his fund way before getting on a highway - which requires fuel and toll. While I can deduce all I want, it cannot escape my mind that it is still a pure emergency and sad case that can happen to anyone, including myself.

I planned to hand him a few red dollar bills. At least he can fill up some petrol. But as I scanned through my wallet, there was no red dollar bill. Plenty of 50s, and spare change of 9 bucks. I gave him all of my 5's and 1's; which is 9 bucks. I knew it will not be enough. But the devil in me didnt want to pull out a 50. A battle of conscience took place and the devil still won.
The guy said it was not enough, and he requires a 50. 30 for petrol and 20 for food he said. In my mind and heart, I said I know. At my mouth, I say I only have this much to offer. After a few minutes of pleading from him; he walked back to his car; and I continued my journey.

Remember I said I was very very very exhausted? I was ready to sleep n drive before the stop. But after that incident; guilt couldnt escape from my mind. I could've help the poor guy. I could've been a good Samaritan
Tears actually almost burst out. Yes he might be a scammer. But he wont resort to this if he was not stranded at the R&R. I could've pulled him out of that situation.
I couldn't stop blaming myself. For my selfishness.
What is the use of driving a comfortable car if you cant even help a person in need?
What is the use of dining in a nice restaurant if you cant even feed a person in hunger?
What is the use of living in a luxurious house if you cant even shelter a person in cold?
I know I cant help everybody. But cant I help a person who approached me?
I couldnt sleep however exhausted I was.
I couldnt stop thinking........what am I....why am I here? Am I...heartless.

Malaysia towards Prosperity

There are so many updates needed to be done, but the Internet connection in Johor is far from encouraging. Actually all aspects here is far from encouraging. Shucks.
I'll find some time to really sit down and do some updates though.

Before I do any updates, I noticed that Malaysians are generally getting richer and richer. Thanks to our government of course. Be sure to elect them back in power comes the next election.
Shopping Malls are mushrooming, traffic jams are increasing (signs of Malaysians buying more cars), prices increase in EVERYTHING. And yet, we are still surviving.

All the basic amenities, especially houses have at least double or triple in prices since the last general election. This also proofs that Malaysians spending power has increased, and we have in fact become a high income nation. It is no longer a goal. We have done it! Just in one short term, Ahjibgor has brought the nation's financial status to a whole new level.

Maybe I am noob, but I am finding it hard to keep up with the country's growth. I will strive to keep improving myself so that I wont be left behind by the Rakyat's growth under Ahjib leadership. Given another term, I am sure we will be declared as super high income nation; as the prices for EVERYTHING will only keep increasing exponentially. Hehe, take that sinjiaporeans and americans.

Room to rent

Hmm, anyone knows where got room to let in JB? Skudai area, Pulai area, Taman U area dan yang sewaktu dengannyer.
My house landlord memang cacat a bit. Other than the things mentioned in the previous post, many other things is making me very dulan. Dem!!!

Now I am self sufficient in many ways, so its alright to get a house with less amenities. I am under-using them currently anyway.

Ada tak sesiapa got kontek?

JB so far

To sum it all, JB sucks.
To compare, being in JB makes me more homesick than being in India. Unfair comparison, but that just shows how suck JB is.

I dont have many references to describe JB ppl. So I will just start with my houselord, my subordinate and the general population.
If I say that India is a good training ground to become numb, then JB is a good training ground to become arseholes. India has high tolerance for bad habits, bad driving behaviour, bad manners; so if you stay there long enough, you will become accustomed to the culture. You may or may not be influenced by them.

In JB, I dont know whether they mixed up too much with pure Sinjiapohreans or the JB ppl who are working in Sinjiapoh. They have high tolerance for kiasunism, selfishness, idiotness, and so on and so forth. They tend to try to take advantage of surrounding people all the time. It is like their hobby or part time job. There is no "give and take". Its - apa pun mau angkat, sikit pun tak mau kasi. Really apa lanciau pun mau. And the thickfaceness is astonishing!! Example common scenario will be like - ASKING you to buy sweets, then 'pau' your sweets after you bought them. Then when they have their own sweets in big/small amount, they will just act dunno hoping you dont ask any from them.

Or when like the TV screen's colour faded when they are watching the TV, then when you are watching it, they will suddenly say you broke the TV and need to buy a new one....... WTF really?

Settling down in JB

Hmm, the first few days were spent in a hotel in Kulai while Irene and I scout for a room to let. It boils down to two choices. Both is also in decent neighborhood.

1. Mutiara Rini
New housing area. Clean and quiet environment. Near to work place, 11km. No jam. Should take around 20minits to reach.
Living room area no sofa or couch or TV. Just an empty area. Kitchen very basic, no fridge.
Toilet is shared attached but clean.
Near to Taman Universiti which has basic amenities nearby. Not so happening.
Cheap rental of RM200.

2. Bukit Indah
Also new housing area. Clean and quiet environment. Further than Mutiara Rini to workplace, 22km. No jam though. Should take around 35minits to reach.
Complete living room setup. Kitchen considered complete. Toilet not attached but will be the sole user, unless got party which is not likely.
Near to happening places and lepak places.
Rental of RM450.

I settled for the Bukit Indah room. At least not so 'bachelor" like how my sis put it. Por chan liau after buying things for the room. Bed-sheets, pillow, mandi things, bersih things. All so mahal siot.
Next time wanna makan also need compete with those sinjiapoh working ppl. So dem.

K la. See how next time.

Lost bracelet

GG

Lost my bracelet. Not really lost it. I some sort of threw it away, not intentionally of course. GG.
I was throwing a rock, in the quarry, with my right hand.

I was wearing the bracelet on the right hand, and it was loose. GG.
It flew off, and can never be found again. It just assimilate itself with the surroundings. So gg.

There goes $$$.

New year resolutions?

Is there a need to wait for new year to come? I think not. This is because most of them are pending resolutions from previous years anyway. XD
At least for me la. Fail.........

Im thinking of starting small.....and then see how it goes when new year comes. Discipline has always been a problem for me. Sigh.....
So what are the small things I can do leh?

Sleeping before 11pm......
Eat dinner before 9pm....
Jogging every alternate morning and evening.
Basketball every alternate evening.
Save a certain amount of $$ in my bank....

Hmm.... I tend to add more "..." in the areas I am more likely to fail.....
XD
Well, the "pre-new year resolution" seems pretty simple and legit enough.
Lets get started.

Traffic Jam

Traffic Jam is one of those things I will do absolutely anything to avoid. The amount of stress and time wasted is phenomenal. Monetary waste is inevitable anyway, so meh.....
The thing is, its not only about infrastructure, where the common people place the blame on. Common people keep on complaining about the government, on how they are unable to provide decent (and cheap) infrastructures to combat traffic jam.
Well, this is only half correct. The government fell short in handling the issue, but the focus of blame is entirely off the mark.

The vehicles on the road kept on increasing, day by day. There is no development in this world that can cope with these numbers. Having 3-4 vehicles in each household is so common nowadays. Mine is guilty for 6+1. Mestilah Jam ini macam!!!!

I would propose a system where only "qualified" buyers can purchase a car. Not in term of distance to work. That is just another screwed up system. "Qualified" buyers mean - a person can only purchase a car if his/her income falls under a certain bracket. Lets say in Lembaga Hasil term, the 19%, 24% and 26% bracket.
Each bracket will only allows purchase for a certain number of cars.
19% bracket - 1 car. Once you reach 24% bracket, only are you allowed for 2 cars. When you reach 26%, you can buy your 3rd car.

Now, I am not trying to discriminate anybody. This method can solve hell lot of problems, and gives another hell lot of benefits.
For One, less traffic Jam.
For Two, people who wants to buy car, wont under declare their income - more revenue for the government.
For Three, more people will have to go for public transport - and this is where the hell of benefits come in.

We can imagine the influx of people going for public transportation if the above is implemented. This generates income for the Transport companies. This will prevent the stoppage of routes because of low passenger rate (reported in the news, if you read news). This is why I said I am not discriminating in this case. This will only help low-income people as their bus route can continue operation, and they can still go to school or work, cheaply.

When this happens, more than a few companies will want to have their hands in the cookie jar. Competitions will ensue and better, more affordable and comfortable form of transit will surface - directly benefiting the masses. The revenue will also generate more taxes for the government.

So if they are worrying about loss of revenue from car sales taxes, we are already providing so much more for them. Personal income tax declarations, and transport companies taxes.
The ONLY downside of this proposal, is we will see the fall of Proton in no time. Why?
If a sane minded people under this beautiful proposal can afford one car, in his income bracket, will he buy a Proton?

Earthquake at my footsteps

Minor earthquake hits Kundasang, Sabah

Woah, this is not the 1st case. In such a short time too.
It seems that all the areas I visit for holiday/vacation purposes will be hit by an earthquake not long after I leave.

I leave a trail of destruction behind me, everywhere I go.
Lets take the mighty lady word as an advice. Human getting too greedy, advance too much into technology.
So got earthquake. Looks like I got a robot feet

TNB meter tampering

There has been news on TNB combating power thefts all over the place. This is a very good step. This can prevent humongous amount of electricity wastage, and also increase efficiency in so many levels. Lesser carbon footprint, more profit for TNB, smaller bills for the average consumers, just to name a few.

However, despite the positive move, being in BolehLand, we somehow always manage to screw things up. Sad but true reality.
Its pathetic that TNB kept giving the same excuse over and over again - "meter has been tampered with" for EVERY freaking case. When asked for prove, they provided none. Its already a standard protocol for them to announce every single entity who uses TNB meter that they had already modify/tamper with it.

Its easy, its convenient, and at the end of the day, you dont really have to do anything other than slapping a fine on the consumers. Tak puas? Go complain la. We will still put the "outstanding" amount in the bill anyway. While many industry or household consumers did tamper with their meter, it is still a very moronic and typical Bolehland way for TNB to handle power thefts in such manner.

One question they need to ask themselves is, what is the quality of their meter in the 1st place? Can they even blame consumers if their own meter didnt take accurate readings from the beginning?

A good intention, a good measure.
Bolehland style, bolehland management.
A screwed up situation

Pull one out, u get 3 more.

What bloody nonsense!!! I mean the statement at the title.
Often we hear the elders or not-so-wise younger people advising us not to pull out your grey/white hair. They claim if you pull out one, 3 more will magically spurt out like the magic tree from the magic bean. I have always pull them out whenever I have one. Vanity is not really the issue here. Its just that I will feel very uncomfortable whenever one pops out. I have always been able to tell whenever I have one. The uggrrhhhh feeling.

Well, mine only will grow if I have some dilemma, or things troubling my mind. Or whenever I am involve in some deep deep thinking. One of the reason I can tell that I have one, even before I head for the mirror.

Lately.....to my surprised, I grew more grey/white hair than usual. And my neck/shoulder hurts. A sign of pre-stroke for me I guess. In dire need of a relaxation therapy right now.
But then again, am I really under THAT much stress lately? Maybe I am. Or I am just getting old? Hmmm. Mystery huh?

Nevertheless, I need some help in pulling these out. My head are spinning with so many attaching to my skull everyday. Haihs....
My guess for the old saying on pull one out, grow three more thingy...... I think its some golden olden advice in addressing your problems, which causes the white hair, instead of just pulling it out, and ignore the root problem. If you ignore the root problem, then 3 more will spurt out.
Somewhere along that line me guess.

Malaysia Students getting smarter

Better Best PMR results

PETALING JAYA: A total of 30,863 candidates scored straight As in the 2010 Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) examination, a 0.65 percentage point increase from last year and the best PMR results in the past four years.
Education director-general Datuk Abdul Ghafar Mahmud said, however, that the results for candidates in the special category (kids with disabilites) saw a slight decline.
DG said the ministry would conduct an analysis to look into the causes.
A total of 479,675 candidates registered to take PMR, he added.

It seems like a positive news. If I am not a Malaysian that is. However, after going through the Malaysia Education System, I know very well this is just a cosmetic news. Syok sendiri as how we say it.

How proud are we for the Form 3 students to get  straight As? Meh, just another mediocre news for most. Even for the parents I assume. The response will be much greater for the parents if the child doesnt get straight As. They will be like - WTF!!! No straight As? This will tell you how cheap straight As has really become. I for one didnt and never feel proud to "achieve" such "feat". I know very well what is the agenda behind that enabled me to get the grades.

I wonder if it really feels so good to get As but to have the standards set so low. I am never the type to say - "blah, kids these days have things so easily". I am not jealous of their results. Heck, I even know and admit the examinations in my days were far easier than the days before mine. I wonder if we are getting dumber so the government need to adjust the grades to suit us.
Or they are clinging hard to their KPIs, giving rainbowish grades so that they will get a fatter bonus?

Adventure with the community clinic

So here the story goes.
I am having a major allergy reaction. Main suspect - the painkiller by the dentist. I went for a impacted 3rd molar removal this afternoon. I thought it deserves a special coverage, but this one tops it off.

So I was having the allergy reaction at around 4.30pm, 15minutes after I swallowed the painkiller. The left eye is getting REALLY swollen, liquid kept pouring out from it. I thought it is lucky to have a clinic in your very own apartment neighborhood. So I rushed there. To my dismay, I was informed the doctor will only be there at 7pm.
I was like....WTF?? A clinic that open at 7pm? But closes at 9.30pm.
Fine, I thought. So I went back awaiting their call. Finally at 7.30pm, I was with the "doctor".

She is this old blurrish aunty with old saree.

Her  : What is the problem?
Me  : I am having an allergic reaction.
Her  : Where?
Me  : *Pointing to my eyes* Here, swollen.
Her  : What is the problem?
Me  : .......Its swollen.
Her  : Why?
Me  : ..............Allergic reaction
Her  : Oh, allergic to what?
Me  : Pain killers, I went to the dentist this afternoon
Her  : *Tunjuk muka blur*
Me  : I went to the dentist, to pull out a tooth
Her  : *Continues to act blur*
Me  : Dental Clinic....tooth extraction. So I had a painkiller.
Her  : *Eyebrows starting to curl*
Me  : *Pointing to my tooth, then mimicking a pulling movement* Deeeennnntisssstttttttt *I said*
Her  : Ohhhhh, Dentist. Why you go to the dentist?
Me  : ............................................To pull out a tooth, and he gave me painkillers, I ate them, and I am having an allergic reaction.
Her  : Is there any pain on your tooth?
Me  : *Almost explodes!!!* No, but I am having an allergic reaction to the painkillers.
Her  : So there is no pain to your tooth now?
Me  : .............................No, not NOW. But now I am having an allergy.
Her  : Where?
Me  : *Almost vomit blood* Pointing to my eyes* Its swollen.
Her  : Any pain? Or Itching?
Me  : No, only swollen. And very uncomfortable.
Her  : Where?
Me  : .....................*points at my eyes* There...........
Her  : What is the problem?
Me  : *very pissed off* I took the painkillers, and now I am having an allergic reaction....
Her  : When?
Me  : THIS AFTERNOON
Her  : Why?
Me  : I WENT TO THE DENTIST TO PULL OUT A TOOTH, HE GAVE ME PAINKILLERS, I ATE THEM, AND NOW I AM HAVING AN ALLERGY
Her  : When you eat the painkillers?
Me  : ................................this afternoon.
Her  : When you have the allergy?
Me  : THIS AFTERNOON
Her  : Any pain? Itching?
Me  : No.....swollen. Very swollen.
Her  : Where?
Me  : *malas oredi* points at face*
Her  : Getting better?
Me  : Yes, better than this afternoon.
Her  : Then it is going to get better in 2-3 days.

At this point, my brain had a seizure. If I can fucking wait for 2-3 days, why the fuck I go to the clinic for a solution? A shot, a pill or anything like that. Its like somebody with high fever, goes to a clinic, then the doctor say - oh, after the fever you will be ok again. WTF!!!!!

And the above conversation is a SHORTEN version.
She is either humiliating the whole woman society, or she is just rick-rolling me.

Bought 3 pills, worth Rs2.00

Increment, or decrement??

I overlooked something important before I jump to the new company. Well, I didnt actually overlook it, I just didnt know the impact of it.
Instead of having a huge salary increment, I ended up with a low one.

The culprit? Tax bracket.
It seems that my current tax bracket, is having a HUGE different with my previous one. So in maths, or accounting terms,
Instead of New Salary >> Old Salary,
it is now (New Salary-New Tax) little bit > (Old Salary-Old Tax).

The worse thing is,  I dont really feel what I am paying worth anything at all (to the government that is). I used to pay next to nothing (actually it is more like RM 0.00) to the IRB. Since I am paying shit, I am used to shitty environment and policies around me. In fact, I have little complains on National issues. I used to justify the lifestyle other countries are enjoying because of their high taxes, and that they are worth it.

Now that I am paying good money to the government, I am starting to feel pissed of on just about everything I can think of about my living condition there.
As if it is not enough being unappreciated, I am often accused, reprimanded, and assaulted for all sorts of allegations thrown by the a-little-earlier immigrant of this nation.

Can I choose where to contribute my taxes to?

I hate Academic Exams!!!!

Everyone experience nightmares. Many people experience similar repeating nightmares night after night. I am one of them.
When I was younger, it was free falling from the sky to a monsoon drain near one of my old house. For years I have had that nightmare, even long after I moved elsewhere. I dont think it count as a nightmare though. Not really scary in a way, and it has stopped long ago. I indeed physically dropped few centimeters to my bed when I wake up from this dream.

The most recent nightmare, which also happen from time to time, is me having to go through school exams again (SPM/STPM). Perhaps this is the balasan for not studying for them back then.
I take my future, or career advancement quite seriously. So failing in those exams, can be a major setback for me. And the nightmares being so real..........scared the shit out of me each time. Worse thing is, they get even more realistic each time.

The recent episode is that I am facing a week of exam. I am not sure if it was SPM or STPM. And as usual, I didnt prepare or study for it. Not that I didnt do any last minute preparation for the exam. It was more like, in my schooling years, I never did any studying at all!
In this nightmare, I even convinced myself that I am screwed. I told myself that this time, THIS IS REAL!!!! I told myself that I had all the similar nightmares, but this one is real. And that I am screwed. I regretted not to heed the warnings from previous nightmares. =_='
Scary shit wei.....

Busying

Ugh....Been so busy these days. I do hope the taste of labor will be sweet. It is starting to show signs of sweetness..yippee...
But with good fruits, there will be worms/bees/serangga perosaks aiming to take it away from you. I have met not few of them. Haihs. Its not easy to bathe in your own victory huh? If there is any victory to bathe in.

Im hoping to train someone to be on par with my management capability, so that I can have more holidays (more than 1/2 day per month) or rest days. With the existing tasks I am handling, I highly doubt that it will be possible. But I am just one man. Chamness.

I wonder, when will it be a time when I will be truly free.

The Star reporting

The reporters in The Star are getting brainless-er day by day. Nevermind the bad grammar in a public newspaper. Nevermind the badly constructed ideas. Now they are not even sure what are they writing about.

That abandonment forced a revision of the starting time, with this year's race brought forward from 5 p.m. to 4 p.m local time. That will lessen the chances of the arrival of rain, which tends to come in the late afternoon, while also heightening the chances of a re-start if the race does have to be stopped. Last year, by the time the storms had passed, it was too dark to contemplate a re-start.

Heightening the chances of a restart? You bloody mentioned it was too dark when the storm passed. And assuming the timing of the storm to be accurate - (hint-brought forward time to avoid rain); it WILL still be too dark when the storm pass.

What an idiot. If you have no idea on how to lengthen your report, just keep it simple n short.

Petronas Transformers

I am feel very surprising. The Transformers toys by Petronas are not bad at all. They are quite good actually. Robot looks like robot, machine looks like machine. Nice.

I found out about it a bit late though. Now I cant find bumblebee anywhere. Chamness. In KL, in Paka, all the stations have them sold out. aRGHHHHH.
Now only I know bumblebee is the 1st batch of toys came out. So im very very late oredi. Haihs. I even check the stations on the highway between KL n here.
I am a sad panda.

Who is having a bumblebee? Sell to me can ma? I offer sepuluh linggit.
